Welcome to Frequently Asked Questions. Enjoy! Send suggestions and new questions to support@gradefix.com and we will reply as soon as possible.
1. Why does the time sometimes turn red?
The study time can turn red in 3 cases:
1. If the Gradefix scheduler has to put more study time for the day, the total time will turn red.
2. If the Gradefix scheduler cannot find a way to make your ideal study time fit, it will turn the individual task time red when it becomes greater than your ideal time.
3. If your task is late, the text and background will turn red.
Our suggestion for red times is to either increase your daily time amounts on the "My Account" page or to increase your task ideal study times on the schedule adjustor box on the bottom left side of the screen.

2. How do I clear my schedule between semesters?
Normally, you should have finished your homework up and the tasks should be gone. If they are still there, you can check them off to take them off your schedule. Once you have deleted all your tasks, you can then go to the "My Account" page and re-title your classes for your new class titles. If you need to change a class name and delete the tasks, you can save the class as blank and it will be erased. Once erased, you can add the new class title. Make sure to click "Save Changes."

3. Can I print out a copy of my schedule?
The printing icon on the top right of your schedule allows you to print your schedule. If you want to filter what class, what type of task, due dates, or how many days you want to see, use the filters box at the left-hand side of the schedule and then print.

4. What does the color-coding mean?
Gradefix color-codes all of your classes to make it easy for you to distinguish which tasks will need to be done for which class.

5. What does the circle and letter mean?
Gradefix color-codes all of your classes automatically. Each class has a corresponding color in order to make it easy for you to see which tasks belong to it. The letter in the circle is short for the type of task you will need to complete. "R" is for reading, "H" is for homework, "Q" is for quiz study, and "E" is for exam study. For example, if your math class is color-coded as red and you have an exam to study for you will see an "E" in a red circle.

6. How do I look at the upcoming weeks?
There are three buttons that determine the date range you see. Directly above the schedule on the left side you will see < today >. The "<" takes you back, "today" sets the first task in your schedule to today, and ">" takes you forward in the schedule. If the buttons are gray they are inactive, meaning there is nothing to see. If the buttons are blue you can change the date ranges to see other tasks.

7. How do I estimate study times?
We hope to eventually create an aid to help you estimate study times. Currently, you will have to do it one of the following ways:
1. Make a gut estimate; some people are better at this than others.
2. Figure out a small unit you can multiply. For example, if you know that it takes you 3 minutes per page to read your chemistry textbook, you would simply multiply 3 x how many pages you need to read for a time estimate. The same idea can be applied to studying time per chapter or per homework problem.
We realize you may have your own method, and we'd love to hear about it at feedback@gradefix.com.
One user made a suggestion to do a little over-estimation. We think over-estimation is probably a good idea, but that is up to you.

The Gradefix task manager remembers the class, task type, and date of the last task entered. When you have repeating tasks, just add a new date, description, and time estimate.

9. What does update mode do and how do I use it?
Update mode is a really great feature that will help you stay on top of your homework. If you miss a task just don't check it off when you next visit the site and update mode appears. Granted, as you procrastinate more Gradefix will have a harder time making all of your tasks fit. We understand that you're not perfect, so enjoy the update mode.

If you can work ahead, great! Do it! Working ahead will make your future schedule even easier. Just check off the tasks on the schedule and click the update button at the bottom of the screen.

11. How do I adjust my schedule manually?
You can use the Schedule Adjust. Another way is to just do the tasks you want to and check them off when they are done. When update mode comes up the next time you sign in simply, don't check off the tasks you didn't do, and Gradefix will re-schedule them.

Filters were created to make viewing your schedule easier. If you want to see tasks for just one class choose the drop down box on the Filters box. You may want to just see the task type; you can filter that by choosing the task type you want to see. Just want to see when tasks are due? Just click the due box. Want to reset the date range from 7 days to something else? Just click the date range drop down and choose a new date range. You can also use combinations of the above-mentioned filters to really see just what you want. Remember to unset any filters if you want to see the schedule as it was before. We think you will find filters to be a very useful function for better viewing of your upcoming tasks.

17. How can I get Gradefix in my language?
We are working in translating Gradefix in to any languages our users want. The process of translation and reprogramming is a labor-intensive process that we are taking in phases. Phase one is a translation of a document that explains what Gradefix does and how it works. If you are interested in assisting in phase one, we will trade your translation time for free premium service. Phase two will be the translation of the actual schedule page. Phase three is the entire site translated into your language. Thank you for your patience in the process. Please email us at feedback@gradefix.com to assist in the translation process.

18. What is the schedule adjustor for?
The Schedule Adjustor is one of the most powerful tools you can customize Gradefix with. Because not all users spend the same amount of time on specific tasks, you can now set the ideal study time for yourself to do reading, homework, and exam and quiz study. Next save your settings and watch Gradefix schedule your ideal times. Sometimes Gradefix will schedule for more than your ideal time (daily) because your schedule is piling up. To get Gradefix to schedule to your ideal times, you could go to the "My Account" page and set your study times higher to give Gradefix more time to fit tasks in. You can add a little more time to your ideal study times so Gradefix can make your schedule work better. We think you will find that the schedule adjustor is a great feature to make the schedule the way you want it. If you have any suggestions of how Gradefix can better schedule, please contact us at feedback@gradefix.com.

19. How do I better use the email reminders?
Email reminders are a nice feature if you don't want to have to go to the Gradefix site all the time. You can set email reminders to every 1, 2, 3, 5, or 7 days. The email reminder is a text email that will tell you the tasks you have due today and for the subsequent days until your next reminder. Email reminders are really nice for premium users that have their entire schedules in Gradefix. If you are the kind of student who gets it all done, you may not have to come back to Gradefix until the next semester to enter your next load of classes! If you miss a task, make sure to come back to Gradefix to update that you missed it so it can be scheduled back into your time.
